PONY rides and a bungee trampoline gave children a day to remember as the Port Seton Centre celebrated its 30th birthday at the weekend.

A family fun day took place at the centre on Saturday and was packed with a variety of activities for everyone to enjoy.

The event was originally scheduled to run from 10am until 4pm, but a threatening weather forecast meant that it finished at 2pm instead as the winds were expected to pick up.

Despite the adverse conditions making an appearance towards the end, a great time was had by all.

There were plenty of opportunities for excited children to burn off their extra energy, including a bouncy castle, bungee trampoline and a miniature train ride.

Face painting and pony rides were on offer, and children and adults alike had the chance to try out rugby and pickleball.

Cockenzie and Port Seton Community Choir were among the line-up of performers who entertained attendees.

Eileen Brown was crowned as queen and presented with flowers and a wand in recognition of her dedication and work within the centre, having worked as part of the team since it opened.

The centre - which first opened on August 26, 1994 - hosts a range of community activities and resources including a food pantry, public cafe, gym and sports halls, youth clubs and library facilities.

A spokesperson for the centre said on social media: "What a fantastic evening at the 30th anniversary celebration.

"Great to see so many people from the past and present celebrating 30 years of Port Seton Centre and also Queen Eileen, who has been there since the beginning.

"Thank you everyone for coming along, all the performers, including Cockenzie & Port Seton Community Choir, and all the staff and volunteers for helping make it a fantastic evening."
