A DONATION from the Musselburgh Trefoil Guild will help buy essential items for the kitchen at the Hollies Community Hub.
Linda Cullen, representing the guild, recently presented a cheque for £100 to Debbie Chalmers, the hub’s new manager.
Debbie told the Courier: “The members of the guild had a collection and handed us this cheque for £100, which was gratefully received.
“They wanted us to have this donation for our charity.”
She added: “This donation means a lot to us and can help us buy essential items for the kitchen, which is an integral part of keeping our lunch club running efficiently.”
The hub, which is based on Musselburgh High Street, aims to “prevent loneliness and social isolation for the vulnerable within the local community”. It has a public cafe and lunch club for older people.
Musselburgh Trefoil Guild meets fortnightly on Wednesdays at 7pm in Fisherrow Community Centre, South Street.
A Girlguiding section for adult members aged 18 and over, it provides a space to make new friends, travel, explore, serve communities and help Guiding thrive across the UK.
