A “BIG milestone” has been reached in returning North Berwick Harbour to its former glory.
For the final stone has been laid into the harbour’s under-repair wall.
A large hole was smashed in the harbour wall during storms at the end of October last year and damage was also caused to the walkway.
In an online update, North Berwick Harbour Trust said: “Thank you to Southbay Civil Engineering Ltd who reached a big milestone [on Saturday], when the team laid the final stone back into the harbour wall.
“Next up for the team will be a few days’ work on Galloway’s Pier and then onto the walkway, hopefully on Thursday.”
An online fundraising appeal was launched to help cover the costs of the damage. On the page, it states that £41,000 has been raised through the page, with a further £50,000 via private and direct donations.
