A REPORT of kayakers in difficulty saw lifeboats launched from Dunbar yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
The RNLI volunteers were paged at 5.35pm and both the inshore and all-weather lifeboats were called to two kayakers in trouble about a kilometre from the shore.
A spokesperson for Dunbar RNLI told the Courier that it turned out to be a false alarm with good intent.

They said: “The D class crew were quickly on scene and established that the ‘kayakers’ were actually two people using a single paddleboard.
“They were travelling from Belhaven Bay to the harbour and were in no difficulty or in need of assistance, and the crew was satisfied it was a false alarm with good intent.
“By then, the all-weather lifeboat had also launched.
“The D class crew escorted the pair back to the harbour and both boats were stood down.”
