A WOMAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged road traffic offence after a crash on the A1 in East Lothian this morning.
Police Scotland were called to the one-car crash on the eastbound (southbound) carriageway near Tranent at 11.25am.
The driver of the car was arrested in connection with the incident.
Traffic Scotland alerted drivers of the accident at 11.32am.
On Traffic Scotland's website, they said: "The A1 southbound at Tranent is restricted due to a road traffic accident, road users are advised to approach with caution."
It is currently unclear if anyone has sustained any injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.25am on Monday, August 12, we were called to a report of a one-car road crash on the A1 southbound at Tranent.
“Emergency services attended and the 57-year-old female driver of the car has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
