EAST Lothian Council’s planning department is weighing up proposals by Andrew Main to build two homes in a property’s garden.
The garden, to the west and south of the property on the town’s Gardener Street, was previously used as a private allotment.
A supporting statement reads: “The applicant’s family have owned the site for many years.
"The intention is for plot one to be occupied by the applicant’s brother.
"He wishes to build an energy-efficient house on plot one, which will become his main residence.
"The remaining garden ground of the site will be too extensive for them to maintain, and therefore permission is sought for the erection of a further dwelling house within the site.”
