POTATO growing, a scarecrow gathering and fabulous flowers will be on display in Gifford.
Plenty of horticultural fun is planned for next weekend (August 17-18) in the village.
A scarecrow trail has taken place around the village in recent years but organisers have opted for them to gather in the flower show marquee this time.
Scarecrows should be staged at the marquee next Friday (August 16) between 1pm and 8pm or the following day from 7am to 9.45am.
There will be a variety of prizes on offer, with winners being crowned on the Sunday.
Entrants to the potato growing competition collected their growing tub and seed potato in March.
Judging of the greatest weight of potatoes grown will take place on the village green on the Saturday and again the winner will be announced the following day.
Roger Wilson, president of Gifford Horticultural Society, was looking forward to the event.
He said: “The 2023 show brought a number of new exhibitors and I hope that 2024 will see many other first-time entrants joining our more experienced exhibitors.
“The success of the show depends on you all taking the time to grow, bake, design and make the brilliant entries that create such a wonderful sight in the marquee in August.”
