NORTH Berwick’s witch trials will be up for discussion later this month, when an award-winning author visits the town to talk about her latest novel.
The King’s Witches, by Kate Foster, retells the storm-hit journey of Princess Anna of Denmark to Scotland to marry King James VI, and also follows young housemaid Jura in North Berwick, who realises her practice of healing charms will leave her vulnerable at a time of witchcraft mania.
Kate, whose debut novel The Maiden won the Bloody Scotland Pitch Perfect Award and the Bloody Scotland Crime Debut of the Year, joins The Boozy Book Club’s Kirsty Herriot on Wednesday, August 28 at Marine North Berwick.
