STUDENTS could soon be weaving their way to success thanks to a £1,000 grant.
The new intake of weaving students at Poldrate Arts & Crafts Centre will benefit from new loom equipment.
Funding to help with the purchase of eight Louet Jane 8-shaft table looms came through East Lothian Council’s Common Goods Funds.
The new looms, supplied by The Threshing Barn, can be set with various weaves, offering greater complexity, allowing more weavers to learn different techniques.
Two wider looms enable members to weave large fabric pieces, such as blankets.
Kirsty Odds, tutor, was looking forward to welcoming students to classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 12.30pm.
She said: “I can't wait to share these new looms with the students and to see what creative designs are produced on them.
“The new looms are a joy to use and will benefit the students for years to come.”
