THE Pennypit Community Development Trust has been given a boost of an extra £2,500 for children's activities and trips during the summer holidays.
In June, Alex Brown, of Ideal Flooring Solutions in Musselburgh, had donated £1,000 and also set up a crowdfunding page in a bid to raise thousands more pounds for the initiative.
Due to an extraordinary amount of donations to the businessman's fundraiser, he has been able to donate the additional funds to the organisation, based in Prestonpans.
On Facebook, Alex said: "Thank you to everyone who donated to the Pennypit Trust through the JustGiving crowdfunding page.
"£2,500 will go a long way to helping kids throughout the school summer holidays."
