FLOWERS, fruits and vegetables will be on display at Innerwick Flower Show this weekend.

A wide range of activities will also be on offer, including a raffle, face painting, Irish dancing performance and afternoon tea.

This year’s flower show, which is East Lothian’s oldest show and dates back more than 150 years, will take place at Innerwick Village Hall on Saturday.

Entries should be placed on the tables in the marquee by 9am on Saturday, ready for judging.

Prizes for the competitions will be presented at 1.30pm by the Lord Lieutenant of East Lothian, with a range of categories including many fruits, vegetables and flowers, as well as arts and crafts such as photography, handmade jewellery and sewing.

There are also 28 categories in the baking competition, with keen bakers tasked with challenges such as four homemade custard cream biscuits or a lemon meringue pie.

Following the prize presentations will be afternoon tea in the hall, plus ice cream and a Pimms truck available in the park outside.

The rest of the event will offer fun activities for children, with face painting, games and a visit from characters from Disney’s Frozen.

Activities also include a raffle and tombola, fashion and food stalls, and Irish dancers from Aine Hay Academy.

Admission to the flower show is free, although donations are welcomed, with doors opening at 1pm.
