GOLFERS turned out in their droves as the Calder Cup and Crawford Cup competitions took place in North Berwick.
The Calder Cup is a putting competition with over a century of history in the town, taking place on the East Links Putting Green.
It was first played for in 1920.
Participants played qualifying rounds last Tuesday before finals day took place last Thursday.
Richard Montgomery led the qualifiers for the Calder Cup with a score of 77.
This year's under 14s' Crawford Cup saw local youngster River Montgomery leading the qualifiers with an excellent score of 81.
However, it was 13-year-old American visitor Ely Ziemer who won the trophy, beating last year’s defeated finalist, Glen Anderson, 2 & 1 in a thrilling final.
The final of the Calder Cup was held last Thursday evening. Two-time past winner Alan Love defeated Bob McNair, winner last year, 2 & 1 in the final.
Beth Marvin was the best lady qualifier with a score of 86 and won a bottle of fizz.
Community Council secretary and previous organiser, Kathryn Smith, presented the prizes.
She said: "The weather was kind, as usual the green was challenging and everyone seemed to enjoy the competition.
"It was pleasing that there was an improvement in the number of entrants again this year.
"George Johnstone who has taken over the running of the event is always looking at ways to further improve participation in the future."
