EMERGENCY services were called out on Friday evening to help someone in the sea near Prestonpans.
Coastguard teams from South Queensferry, Fisherrow and North Berwick were called out to help Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
A spokesperson for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency told the Courier: “The alarm was raised on Friday, July 26, just after 6.30pm.
“The person was recovered from the water.”
Police Scotland have been approached for a comment.
