YOUNG people from Tranent have enjoyed a trip to Berwick as they look to help out in the community.
Youth charity Recharge, based in Tranent, works with young people in the Fa’side area aged 11 to 18 to develop their confidence and life skills.
The charity provides a variety of services, including drop-in evenings, online work, one-to-one support and issue-based group work.
Recharge’s most recent activity involved a three-day residential trip with its Youth Forum group, who have been carrying out work in the community over the last year.
Six young people aged 12 to 14 spent three days in Berwick, where they enjoyed a range of activities including visiting Alnwick Castle, feeding seals at Eyemouth and spending time on the beach.
The residential trip aimed to allow the young people to have new experiences and learn some new skills, while also preparing to do some community work after the trip.
Recently, the group has been busy designing new bingo callers for the Fa’side Community Kitchen and they plan to join in with the bingo on Tuesday.
They have been on the lookout for other issues around Tranent that they would like to get more involved in over the coming months.

Fun activities planned for the rest of the summer include a trip to the Edinburgh Dungeon and Edinburgh Zoo.
Recharge is currently running a summer provision fundraiser to try and increase the number and range of activities on offer.
Money raised so far has been spent on replacement parts for musical instruments that had become worn out.
Alan Bell, manager at Recharge, was delighted with how the trip went and was glad to see the young people so inspired to help in the community.
He said: “The young people were fantastic.
“They really stuck at it and were a credit to the Tranent area.”
