A FIRE broke out at the beach close to Cockenzie Harbour yesterday evening (Tuesday), forcing firefighters to attend the scene.
Reports reached the fire service at 9.46pm, with one appliance sent from Tranent.
The fire, close to the harbour, consisted of rubbish and a bicycle, and the blaze was extinguished by firefighters on arrival.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that no one was injured.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 9.46pm on Tuesday, July 23, to reports of rubbish on fire near Cockenzie Harbour.
"Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance to the scene and the crew extinguished the fire.
"There were no casualties and firefighters left the scene after ensuring the area was safe."
