Gibsons of Haddington has raised £137.43 for a local good cause.

The shop, on Market Street, sells gifts, jewellery and cookware, and popped a collection tin at the till for customers to donate to Our Community Kitchen East Lothian.

The locally run kitchen exists to reduce isolation and loneliness by bringing people together to eat nutritious home-cooked food around a table.

Joanna Gibson, owner of the store, thanked customers for the many donations, and said: “We would like to thank all the customers for popping their spare change into the charity boxes which we have on the counter.

"OCK is such a special charity to support because it has created a space for people to meet, have lunch, meet new friends and share activities.

“We also have a box for Macmillan Cancer Support and Haddington Athletic.”

Our Community Kitchen East Lothian said on Facebook: “A massive thank you to Gibsons of Haddington for holding a collection jar for us and to every one of you kind people who put money into the jar.

“We have counted £137.43. We are so happy. Thank you.”
