A new president has taken the reins of Musselburgh Inner Wheel Club.

Helen McMillan, who has held the post for two years, handed over the president’s collar to Elaine Clark at a recent meeting.

Mrs Clark is looking forward to a busy year ahead as the club prepares to celebrate its 60th birthday in June next year.

Plans are under way to celebrate the diamond jubilee milestone in the club’s history.

A fashion show will be held on October 26 at Loretto Church Hall on Newbigging.

The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets, priced £7.50, are available from club members or the secretary via secretary@innerwheelmusselburgh.co.uk

All profits will go to local charities.

Wilma Raitt was also presented with a certificate of long membership after marking 40 years of service to the work of Inner Wheel.

Anyone interested in joining the club should contact the secretary. The club meets on the third Wednesday of every month at the Ravelston House Hotel for friendship, fun and fundraising.

Sheila Bowler, club spokesperson, said: “We look forward to Elaine’s year in office and thank Helen for all she has done for our club over the past two years.

“We also thank the people of Musselburgh for their continued support – we couldn’t do it without them.”
