A LONG-SERVING member of staff at Knox Academy has waved goodbye to the school.

The last day of term for pupils and staff before the summer holidays was also the final day at school for John Taylor, curriculum leader of science.

Sue Cook, headteacher at the Haddington secondary school, wished Mr Taylor “a long and happy retirement” after nearly 29 years at the school.

She said: “He has been a truly amazing member of our team.”

Pupil support auxiliary Wendy Tan has also moved to Luton to follow a pathway in health and social care, while Jo Donald has taken up a post at Winchburgh Academy.
