A NORTH Berwick man has been banned from the road after he was caught driving while disqualified.
Oliver Malcolm, 57, was stopped by the police while he was driving a van on Lasswade Road, Edinburgh, on August 19 last year.
It emerged that Malcolm was using the vehicle after he had previously been banned from driving by the courts following a separate offence.
Malcolm pleaded guilty when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday. Sheriff Adrian Fraser sentenced the offender, of Craigleith Avenue, to serve a 24-month driving ban and ordered him to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work in the community.
