AN EIGHTY-YEAR-OLD man has avoided a road ban after he caused a collision in Haddington.

David Sheridan was driving on the A199 when he veered onto the wrong side of the road. His car then collided with an oncoming vehicle during the incident on August 27, 2022.

He was arrested and charged, and he pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

Sheridan, of Polwarth Terrace, Prestonpans, was fined £470 and had eight penalty points placed on his driving licence.
