A MAN has been arrested and charged after a man was seriously injured in Tranent.
On Sunday afternoon, police received reports that a 37-year-old man had been seriously injured on Elphinstone Road.
The Scottish Ambulance Service attended the incident and the injured man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and later released.
A 39-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.30pm on Sunday, July 14, we received a report of a 37-year-old man seriously injured at an address on Elphinstone Road, Tranent.
"He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and later released.
"A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and he is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.
"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
