A MUSSELBURGH man who smashed his partner’s phone has appeared in court.
Norman Mackenzie, of the town’s Promenade, seized a mobile phone from the woman’s hand and smashed the device by throwing it against a wall on April 8.
He also shouted and swore during the incident in the town.
Police were called out to the disturbance and 43-year-old Mackenzie was arrested and charged under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018.
He pleaded guilty to the offence and was placed under the supervision of the social work department for six months to monitor his behaviour.
