A BUSY sports club is hoping for an ace result after teaming up with a national supermarket chain.
Haddington Table Tennis Club/Table Tennis East Lothian is bidding for a cash boost through the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme.
The initiative provides grants of up to £1,500 to local community projects, with a particular focus on children and young people.
Three groups in every community have been shortlisted to receive grants and Tesco customers are able to vote for the group they think should take the top award.
The project will enable the development of junior table tennis in Haddington, with the funding going towards buying equipment and providing coaching at fun and inclusive sessions.
Voting is open from July to August and customers are given a blue token to vote with at the checkout when they shop.
Tony McElroy, Tesco’s head of communications in Scotland, said: “Tesco Stronger Starts help support local good causes but especially those projects supporting young people, those providing food, and local causes close to our colleagues’ hearts.”
Anyone can nominate a project and organisations can apply online. To find out more, visit tescoplc.com/strongerstarts
