A STAND-UP paddleboarder thought to be in difficulty near Dunbar’s harbour led to lifeboat and coastguard crews being called out.
The town’s RNLI volunteers responded yesterday (Thursday) following a report of someone in difficulty just after 6pm.
The crew conducted a search of the area after launching the in-shore lifeboat.
A spokesperson for Dunbar RNLI said: “After no casualty was located and after speaking to other paddle boarders in the area and with the help of coastguard teams from Dunbar and North Berwick, it was established it was a false alarm with good intent.
“If you see anything suspicious on the water call 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
