TWO achievement ceremonies were held at Rosehill High School at Wallyford.

About 350 award winners and their families attended the new school’s first large community event held in the assembly space.

The S1 and S2 Values Celebration acknowledged the young people who embodied the school values of Respect, Kindness and Reasonability throughout the year.

The Broad General Education Graduation gave all S3s the opportunity to have this “important milestone” acknowledged.

Across the ceremonies, staff and pupils shared favourite memories from year one, including examples of the learning taking place both in and beyond the classroom, and reflections from pupils and staff about the progress which had been made.

The pupils got fully involved in the live event, making and serving refreshments, providing live music and delivering technical support.

Headteacher Gail Preston said: “A key theme from this historical first year at Rosehill has been ‘doing things differently’.

“We were delighted that so much of the positive feedback we received from our community was around the evening being original, inclusive and suited our school culture. I am incredibly proud of the collective efforts of our staff and pupils throughout an extraordinary journey and it was wonderful to be able to share those successes.”
