EAST Lothian residents are going to the polls today (Thursday) to vote in the General Election.
Voting is open in both the Lothian East and the Edinburgh East and Musselburgh constituencies from 7am until 10pm.
For the first time at a General Election, voters must bring ID with them in order to be allowed to vote.
We've compiled a list of everything you need to know for the election: you can find it here.
Results will be announced through the night, with declarations expected in both seats in the early hours of Friday morning.
The Courier will be live at the Lothian East count – visit our website to follow our live blog.
We'd also love to hear from you about who you're voting for and why – anonymously if you wish. If you'd like to let us know, fill in the form here. We'll publish some of the responses during our election live blog.
Election 2024 - Who are you voting for and why?
Voters are going to the polls on Thursday for the General Election. We're asking: which party/candidate is getting your vote and why? Are you supporting a different party this time than you did at the last election? If so, what made you change your mind? We'll publish some of the responses in our live blog from the East Lothian count tonight - we'll include your name if you like or keep you anonymous if you'd prefer.
