A FAMILY-RUN florist has been left pleading for information from the public after their shop-front window was smashed by a vandal with a plant pot leaving them with a bill of up to £4,000.

Arek and Radek Lewandowski, owners of Flowers of Arkadius in Musselburgh, were left upset after discovering their front window had been cracked in the early hours of yesterday (Tuesday).

The couple have been running the business, on Newbigging, since 2012 and after arriving to open their florist yesterday morning found the damage.

Arek said: "I am very upset after finding this as it is a huge window.

"The damage done looks very ugly and it does not look very safe for people coming in and out of the shop.

"I called the window glazer and he told me it would cost between £3,000-£4,000 because it is safety glass and has to comply with a business like ours.

"I am just so upset, we just want some information to find the people who did this."

The shop window of Flowers of Arkadius was smahed by a plant pot on Newbigging, Musselburgh.

Arek told the Courier that he had obtained CCTV footage of the culprits with the incident happening at about 2.50am.

He described four young people in dark clothing with one of them throwing a plant pot, stationed at the front door, at the shop's window.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of vandalism at a premises on Newbigging in Musselburgh on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
