THE main route through Elphinstone will be closed for almost two months.
Roadworks got under way today (Monday) on the village's Main Street, between the junctions of Buxley Road and Tranent Road, and is set to be in place until August 25.
The road will be closed to vehicles due to drainage works.
Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained.
The diversion will take motorists along Carberry Road, Salters Road and the A199.
