A POLICE dog has been praised as a hero after it emerged that the animal was responsible for finding a 79-year-old who had gone missing from a holiday park in East Lothian.
Michael Connolly, from Lochore in Fife, went missing from Seton Sands Holiday Park in Port Seton on Wednesday.
He was eventually found safe and sound earlier today when he was discovered in a field by Police Scotland's very own P.D. Sully.
Michael had been missing for hours, with a number of search parties out looking for him.
Police Scotland said on social media: "P.D. Sully was amazing today, finding a missing, vulnerable, 79-year-old male who'd been missing for hours in East Lothian.
"Sully found him in a field and he's now being supported.
"Great job by the handler and Sully, who we took on as a rescue dog from Mad Rescue UK."
