NORTH Berwick High Street has been named in a list of the UK’s “loveliest high streets”.
Last week, The Times named its top seven high streets in Great Britain.
Independent retailers, antique shops, restaurants and places to stay nearby were all factored into the list.
Placing third, North Berwick High Street was only beaten by Narberth in Pembrokeshire and Lymington in Hampshire.
In its description for North Berwick, the newspaper said: “Footfall was already good on the high street of this coastal town, an hour’s drive from Edinburgh — it increased after a new, local ‘Town Centre First’ project — but it’s better than ever post-Covid, now that we’ve realised that we do like to be beside the seaside.”
Businesses highlighted included Paper Flower, Norden, Barker & Bone, Bostock Bakery, the Lobster Shack and luxury B&B, The Glebe House B&B.
