AN EAST Lothian ebay seller is currently trying to flog a rare King Charles 50p coin for 500 times its original value.
A number of rare coins with the new sovereign's head came into circulation in December 2022, with a new batch released to the public last year.
This has led to hundreds of people up and down the country listing them online for hundreds of pounds, with collectors vying to be owners of the 50ps.
The ebay seller, known as nhoy1971-7, located in Tranent, is advertising the 2022, 50p coin, for £250 and has classed it as in "new condition".
In the description, the seller left a summary of the coin, which reads: "King Charles 50 pence piece, good condition, check out my other listings, any questions just message me."
This seller isn't the only person trying to sell the rare coins.
On Facebook Marketplace in Edinburgh, there are listings of the coin for £100.
