A FAMILY-FRIENDLY music festival set for the whole of the summer got under way at the weekend.
EH32 Live, located at Cockenzie House, kicked off its first two-day stint at the weekend and will be running nearly every Saturday and Sunday until the end of August.
Following the event’s The Best Small Festival 2024 award, attendees can look forward to high-quality local live music and youth talent on display.
The opening weekend saw Macfunkel/The Tones performing on Saturday, then Ross Steele on Sunday.
The events will be on every weekend, apart from the first weekend of every month, until the end of August.
In addition, organisers are excited to introduce their first ever EH32 Live Youth Music Project, scheduled for July 11, 12 and 13.
This programme offers an opportunity for 10 young people from school years S1 to S6 in East Lothian to immerse themselves in the world of music.
The youth music project provides a platform for participants to form bands, create music and explore their musical talents, whether through writing original songs, playing covers, or a mix of both. No previous experience is required, making it accessible to all aspiring young musicians. The project will culminate in an optional performance at EH32 Live on Saturday, July 13, allowing the young musicians to showcase their hard work.
This free project aims to help participants gain confidence, develop their musical abilities, and perhaps even continue performing live with the bands they form.
The project will be facilitated by two experienced youth music tutors, Glen Muir and Craig Hodgson.
Spaces for the youth music project are very limited, but organisers hope to offer this opportunity more regularly in the future. For those interested in participating or who know someone who would benefit from the project, email ramblingstageevents@outlook.com to receive a registration form.
