A PORTRAIT of King Charles III has been presented to Haddington Day Centre.
Representatives of Haddington and District Community Council handed over the framed portrait to Caroline Scott, manager of the day centre, at the end of last month.
Last year, the Cabinet Office released a new official portrait of the King.
Copies of the portrait, taken at Windsor Castle last year by photographer Hugo Burnand, were made available to public buildings throughout the country.
Then, town, parish and community councils, as well as Ministry of Defence-sponsored cadet forces, were offered a copy of the portrait.
Haddington’s community council previously met in the Town House.
However, currently the group meets in Knox Academy’s library and it was felt that the portrait should be in a more public place.
Mrs Scott, who is celebrating her 25th year at the day centre on Neilson Park Road, was delighted to accept the donation.
She said: “It is in pride of place. The clients are delighted with it.”
