DELICIOUS cookies, marvellous muffins and scrumptious banana loaves could help people be crowned a village’s ‘Star Baker’.
The baking competition is just part of the activities on offer at Dirleton Fete and Games on Saturday.
The annual village celebration also features a fun dog show, classic cars and tombola.
This year, the baking competition is split into three categories.
Entrants in the youngest category, for anyone aged up to 10, will create sweetie cupcakes or chocolate chip cookies, while anyone aged from 11 to 15 is challenged to bake raspberry and white chocolate muffins or strawberry tarts.
Finally, adults can create their own lemon drizzle cake, gluten-free polenta cake or banana loaf.
There is also a fruit and vegetable carving competition with a “bugs, slugs and snails” theme.
Entries for the two competitions must be handed into the tea tent by 1.45pm on the day, with prizes awarded an hour later.
The fun dog show – featuring categories such as fancy dress, waggiest tail and best young handler – takes place from 3pm.
As well as a fun day out, the annual event raises money for good causes; more than £5,000 of donations were made to nine different charities in 2023.
