MEMBERS of the local community will get the chance to tour Queen Margaret University’s newly developed Outdoor Learning Hub and Discovery Trail.

They will be able to view the facility at the university’s summer community forum on Wednesday, from 6.30pm to 7.45pm.

The event will take place at The Howff, QMU’s outdoor meeting space, which is now officially open to staff, students and the wider community.

Located near the pond, it has a hand-crafted wooden shelter with a wildflower roof and skylight dome, and makes up part of the Outdoor Learning Hub and Discovery Trail.

Held twice a year, the community forum offers the opportunity for East Lothian representatives and local residents to discuss the university’s work and subjects of common interest.

The meeting will include an optional tour of the Outdoor Learning Hub, led by Patrick Boxall, QMU lecturer and hub project lead, along with discussion of other subjects of interest to participants.

The community forum will cover recent developments at the university and include an open discussion for community members to bring their thoughts and ideas on how QMU interacts with those living and working in Musselburgh and the wider area.

Jane Scott, director of marketing and communications at QMU, said: “The community forum helps build connections through the exchange of ideas.

“We truly value hearing from our community as we strive to help strengthen initiatives for the benefit of all involved.

“There have been some great developments at QMU recently and we are excited to share the details of these with all the attendees.”

Anyone interested in attending should register by emailing marketing@qmu.ac.uk
