A COUNTY man has been sentenced after he was found guilty of two sexual offences following a trial.
Fraser Buchan, of Tranent Road, Elphinstone, stood trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court earlier this year after he had denied allegations he had engaged in a sexual act with a 15 year-old child.
Buchan also denied he directed sexual communication towards the girl but was found guilty by Sheriff Ian Anderson on April 25.
He returned to the dock for sentencing last Monday, where the sheriff sentenced him to a community payback order consisting of six months of supervision.
Buchan, 28, was also placed on the sex offenders' register for six months.
Buchan was found guilty of engaging in a sexual act with the child by repeatedly squeezing and touching her breasts at an address in the village on August 28, 2022.
He was also found to have directed sexual communications towards her on the same date.
