A MOTOR cruiser which became snagged on a creel line near Bass Rock was rescued by lifeboat volunteers.

Dunbar’s RNLI all-weather crew was called out on Wednesday at about 12.20pm.

The 43-foot motor cruiser’s propeller became snagged on a creel line.

A spokesperson for the crew said: “Launching from Torness Power Station, the Trent class 'John Neville Taylor' arrived on scene and, after assessing the situation, coxswain Gary Fairbairn decided the safest option was to tow the motor cruiser to Dunbar Harbour, where the vessel was safely berthed at around 2.20pm.

“The service call was also notable for being full-time station mechanic Phoebe Douglas's first 'shout'. Well done, Phoebe!”
