I GOT a last-minute ticket to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour alone and honestly had the time of my life at Murrayfield – and have now found myself singing along to the songs!

As a 26-year-old die-hard Calvin Harris fan for many a year, I tried very hard to ignore the Taylor Swift hype that slowly but surely engulfed Edinburgh.

However, after hearing the pop sensation from a distance during her Friday night performance, I couldn't resist getting a ticket for the following day.

So I woke up from my gallivanting from the night before, had an early lunch with the rugby on and got down to do some serious Taylor Swift ticket hunting (with a whisky in hand).

I scanned through a few questionable ticketing websites and, before I knew it, I had an official Ticketmaster voucher sent to my phone to see her 'Shake It Off' in only a few hours' time.

After hearing that many other fans had spent hundreds, if not thousands of pounds, with many hours dedicated online trying to secure their tickets to see her, I was very surprised I got a ticket at all.

So I left my flat at about 6pm and was just in time to grab two overpriced pints and head to my seat.

Some of the Swifties were even got a few snaps of me

The first song on the setlist, 'Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince', I can honestly say I had never heard before in my life – but that didn't stop me enjoying the next one.

Scottish weather is very unpredictable but on the Saturday Taylor was definitely not having a 'Cruel Summer' as the wind and rain obeyed the crowd and, for the first time at the concert, I was able to sing a song I actually knew!

Over the next hour, there were a number of songs I didn't know but then a few of her absolute classics, which included 'You Need to Calm Down', 'You Belong With Me' and, of course, 'Love Story', blared out and the crowd went mad.

I am used to going to see the rugby at Murrayfield but I had never heard so much noise at the stadium before; it was electric.

Then a number of tracks came on from my teenage years which really brought back memories, such as '22' and 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'.

This was followed up by three eras – Speak Now, Reputation and Folklore / Evermore – that I did not recognise a single song from, not one.

There was only one thing I could do at this point: head downstairs for more pints – and I wasn't the only guy who did this!

During my time waiting for drinks, I spoke to a number of boyfriends accompanying their partners who had never heard any of the songs from those eras.

But then it was time for '1989' and, before I knew it, I was singing my heart out to 'Style', 'Blank Space', 'Shake It Off', 'Wildest Dreams' and 'Bad Blood'.

For the rest of the concert, I recognised a few choruses and just did an awkward dance to go along with the crowd!

I headed off at about 10.30pm.

While walking through the crowds, I had a few thoughts: I may not have known all of the songs, but I did have a cracking time.

Taylor, you better be coming back to Scotland a lot more, and a lot sooner than last time. Many of your fans had to wait almost 10 years for your return!

Next time, I'll be in the front row and, I promise, I'll know more of your songs!
