SEVENTY-FIVE years of Macmerry Gala will be toasted on Saturday afternoon.
Gala celebrations have been taking place throughout the week in the lead-up to gala day itself, which takes in the village’s park.
At the beginning of the year, the gala court was drawn for the 75th anniversary.
Megan Fairgrieve was chosen as queen, with Daniel Todman as consort.
Alana Kale, Ella Messelink-Moran and Emma Myles were selected as maids, while Tommy Hotchkiss and Finn Hunter were named as page boys.
Finally, Caitlin Baillie and Hollie Watson were confirmed as flowergirls.
This evening (Thursday), Macmerry Gala’s treasure hunt takes place from 6pm.
Anyone interested in taking part is to meet in the village hall car park and grab a clue-and-answer sheet.
Look out for pictures put up in the windows of houses as people follow the clues to the correct streets throughout the village.
Tomorrow (Friday), in Macmerry Park, an adult football match will take place.
Kick-off is at 6pm and will see the over-30s up against the under-30s.
A pram race takes place at 6.30pm in the park and then it is time for the gala day, from 1pm to 4pm, on Saturday.
