THE annual Edinburgh Taxi Outing is returning to East Lothian tomorrow (Tuesday), as cabs decorated with balloons and drivers in fancy dress head through the county.
The outing, now in its 76th year, is set to raise money for children with additional needs, life-limiting conditions and terminal illnesses, and leaves Edinburgh Zoo's car park at 10am.
All of the taxis will be decorated with balloons or as floats, and there are stops in Musselburgh, Prestonpans, Cockenzie and Port Seton, Aberlady, Gullane and Dirleton all planned for the route.
The convoy, arranged by Edinburgh Taxi Trade Children’s Outing Committee, will be under a police escort through Edinburgh and along the coast to Archerfield Walled Garden, near Dirleton, with a stop outside Luca's in Musselburgh to enjoy an ice cream.
Once they reach Archerfield, organisers promise a fun-filled afternoon before heading home at about 4pm.
Guests of honour on the day include the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, a cab inspector and maybe even the Calcutta Cup.
All of the timings, in East Lothian, to see the outing can be seen below:
- Musselburgh (stopping for ice cream at Luca's) 11.10-11.40am;
