FAMILY fun is in store at Musselburgh Children's Gala which will take place tomorrow (Saturday).

The event, organised annually by Musselburgh & Inveresk Community Council, will run from noon-4pm on Fisherrow Links.

Tickets, priced £3, are available from the Brunton box office at The Brunton in Ladywell Way or online at The Brunton.

They will entitle each child to a goody bag, along with juice or water, and an ice cream.

"They can use the funfair as often as the timescale permits," said Irene Tait, community council chairperson.

Other attractions include children's entertainers Alexander the Great with a magic, plate spinning and balloon modelling.

East Coast Radio will be there will all the latest sounds.

Music will also be provided by the Musselburgh and Penicuik Boys' Brigade Pipe Band.

There will be food stalls and Sizzlers at the gala to keep those hunger pangs at bay as well as a tea and coffee tent and J&J Ices.

Facepainting can be enjoyed and Musselburgh Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets will be present to share information about their latest activities.

The Musselburgh-based Louise Collie Dance Company (LCDC) will perform dance routines during the afternoon. A fun stall has been organised by the Rotary Club of Musselburgh.

Mrs Tait added: "The gala is always a great community event and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone this year."
