A COUNTY woman has avoided a jail sentence after she was caught attempting to pass mobile phone SIM cards and quantities of drugs to others within HMP Edinburgh.

Jaclyn Reynolds, 44, was seen attempting to pass the quantity of SIM cards to another person while attending the prison on February 8 last year.

Reynolds, who has recently moved to McLeod Crescent in Prestonpans, was also found to be concerned in the supply of the Class B drug MDMB4EN-PINACA, otherwise known as the synthetic cannabinoid, Spice.

She was also concerned in the supply of Class C drug Bromalonam to others during the same incident.

Reynolds had admitted the offences when she appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court earlier this year and was back in the dock for sentencing on Thursday.

Sheriff Kenneth Campbell KC was told Reynolds is currently under the conditions of two community payback orders, including supervision, imposed for previous offending.

The sheriff said he was placing Reynolds on a further 12 month offenders’ supervision order as a direct alternative to a custodial sentence.
