A PLEA has been made for volunteers to help a group dedicated to developing the appearance and ecology of the River Tyne.
Friends of the River Tyne cleared 22 bags of Himalayan Balsam over the weekend through the hard work of eight volunteers.
The group hosts its annual general meeting in Haddington’s Masonic Hall on June 11.
The meeting gets under way at 7pm and a spokesperson for the group said they “desperately need” volunteers.
A river clean is also planned for July 20.
Anyone interested should meet at the Bridge Centre at 10am.
