VANS and vehicles towing trailers will need to book an appointment from Thursday before they visit East Lothian’s recycling centres.
Issues with the online booking system have now been ironed out and motorists can book their space.
A spokesperson for the local confirmed the online booking system had gone live and the need to book spaces would come into force on Thursday.

They said: “Spaces are allocated 10am to noon; people must be on site by 11.45am at the latest before the access window closes.
“Each site has 25 spaces each day – 75 spaces per day across our centres at Kinwegar, North Berwick and Dunbar seven days per week.
“Multiple visits are permitted on a single day as long as there is a valid booking in place and access is within our fair use policy of 12 visits per year for these types of vehicles.
“Special arrangements are in place for hired vehicles and there are exemptions, for example large vehicles modified to accommodate a passenger in a wheelchair.”
