A FAMILY fun day, with a focus on raising awareness about gambling harm, takes place at Preston Lodge Rugby Club on Sunday.
Youth charity Fast Forward will host the community fun day at the rugby club, alongside some of the UK’s top rounders players.
Organisers hope that many youngsters and families from East Lothian communities will attend the event for a free game of rounders.
Attendants will get a free meal provided by M&M’s Munchies and the bar will also be open at the rugby club.
There will also be a chance for residents to chat to the specialist staff about gambling addictions and take part in a number of workshops to discover more about the issue.
Fran Howard, programme manager for Fast Forward’s Scottish Gambling Education Hub, said: “It’s going to be an amazing day at Preston Lodge Rugby Club, whether you’re any good at rounders or not. It will be a really good laugh.
“As well as playing with some of the best rounders players in the UK, people who attend will be able to find out more about gambling in our communities if they want to.
“We’re also investigating gambling harms in Scotland, and the level of support that is available to those who might be experiencing such harm.
“We are exploring the extent to which people are aware of the support available to people who are experiencing harms from gambling, and their willingness to access such support.”
Players will sign up to play at 10am, with workshops and games beginning at 11am and ending at 1.15pm.
