Lengthy diversions are expected as three phases of carriageway resurfacing works are set to take place on a key road in a county village.

East Lothian Council will carry out carriageway resurfacing works at Lempockwells Crossroads, Pencaitland, from Monday (June 3) for seven working days.

The first phase of work from June 3 to 7 will see the main straight section of Lempockwells Crossroads closed east of the crossroads, with a signed diversion in place.

The second phase, on June 10, will see the closure of the small road to Mill House, with a signed diversion route in place. The remaining roads will be open, with the crossroads under temporary traffic lights.

On June 11, Lempockwells Road will be closed from Pencaitland for a distance of about 270m, with a diversion route in place.
