THERE was disruption on the line between North Berwick and Edinburgh this afternoon after a person was hit by a train.
Disruption of the 12.26pm service from North Berwick to the Capital was reported by ScotRail; the train arrived safely at Waverley station at 1.07pm.
ScotRail informed its customers by sending out an email alert, letting commuters know about the situation.
The alert said: "Disruption has been reported to services between North Berwick and Edinburgh.
"The 12.26 is expected to arrive at Edinburgh at about 13.07, eight minutes late, due to a person being hit by a train."
ScotRail services now appear to be operating as normal.
British Transport Police has been contacted for comment.
