The Edinburgh Marathon returns to parts of the county this Sunday with several roads in Musselburgh, Prestonpans and Cockenzie and Port Seton impacted by the closures on Sunday and some on Saturday night.
The marathon, which begins at Potterow in Edinburgh, will see runners make their way through the city into Musselburgh, then through Prestonpans, Cockenzie and Port Seton before looping back to finish at Pinkie Playing Fields.
Road closures will be in place for much of the day on Sunday.
In Musselburgh, the Edinburgh Road (A199) from its boundary with Edinburgh to its junction with New Street, New Street Promenade, Links View, New Street between Edinburgh Road and No. 204 New Street, Eskside West, Eskside East between the River Esk footbridge to Shorthope Street, James Street, Goosegreen Crescent and Shorthope Street will close from 5am until 1.30pm on Sunday.
Millhill Car Park will close from 10pm on Saturday until 1.30pm on Sunday. Balcarres Road will close from 5am until 12.30pm on Sunday. Millhill eastbound from Shorthope Street to James Street as well as Linkfield Road and Ravensheugh Road, will close from 5am on Sunday until 6.30pm.
An unnamed entrance west of New Street, Harbour Road at its junction with New Street as well as Bush Street, Caird’s Row, Beach Lane, Links Avenue and Links Street at their junctions with the Promenade, Gracefield car park, Downie Place, Ladywell, Eskdale Mews, Mountjoy Terrace, Mountjoy Court, Goose Green Road, Old Course Gate, Goose Green Court, Goose Green Avenue and Goose Green Place at its junction with Goose Green Crescent will close from 5am until 2pm on Sunday.
Musselburgh High Street and Beulah will close from 5am to 6.30pm on Sunday along with an unnamed entrance off Linkfield Road, Linkfield Court, Windsor Gardens, Ashgrove at its junction with Linkfield Road and Pinkie Road will also be closed at the same time.
Pinkie Road service road, Pinkie Terrace, Edenhall Road, Park Lane, Rothesay Place and Grove Street will close from 5am until 6.30pm on Sunday at their junctions with Pinkie Road.
In Prestonpans, parts of the B1348 from Ravensheugh to Prestonpans High Street, as well as the whole of Prestonpans High Street will also close from 5am to 6.30pm on Sunday.
The B1348 will be closed from Prestonpans High Street to Edinburgh Road in Cockenzie, Gosford Road eastbound, Cockenzie High Street, Elcho Place, Wemyss Place, Viewforth and Seton Place will close in their entirety from 5am to 6pm on Sunday.
Links Road eastbound between Seton Place and Seton Sands Holiday park will close from 5am until 6pm on Sunday. The A198 will also close from its junction with the B1348 to the access at Green Craig near Aberlady, from 5am until 3.30pm on Sunday.
