LIVE music, beer and food will fill Haddington’s Neilson Park on Saturday when hundreds of people are expected to attend Goatfest.

Six bands will take to the stage at the event, which is organised by Haddington Rugby Club, alongside Winton Brewery, which is also based in the town.

Bob Snodgrass, who has been at the heart of organising Goatfest, was hoping for another fun-filled day.

The idea stems from a similar initiative organised by Dumfries Saints RFC.

He previously told the Courier: “They run a beer festival called the Beltie Beer Festival and had been running it for a couple of years before Covid and ran it again in 2022.

“They talked about how much fun it was but also attracting beyond the usual people who go to rugby club events.

“The target audience is anyone in the surrounding area who loves music and having a good time with friends.”

Fewer than 200 tickets remain for the family event, which could attract as many as 1,500 people.

Music will be provided by Dean Jones, Klones, Beat Loaf, Auld Hat, The Moontrip Punx and Jack Robertson.

Craft beer, food and drink will also be on offer at the event, which runs from noon to 6pm.

Tickets are available from ticketsource.co.uk/goatfest and cost £17.50.
