East Lothian primary schools have been named among the best in Scotland for 2024 by The Sunday Times.

The league table looked at primary schools across the country and assessed them on a number of metrics such as numeracy and reading.

Introducing the ranking, the newspaper said: "A record 84 from the nearly 1,200 schools which submitted data scored top marks across all indicators in the school year ending in the summer of 2023. This is up from just 50 when data was first collected in 2017, 69 in 2018, 64 in 2019, 51 in 2021 and 63 in 2022."
